The “Future Memory” exhibition of collaborative and solo artworks by Akira Fujimoto and Cannon Hersey was held at the Hersey family studio and home in Millbrook, New York from June – September, 2024.
The exhibition premiered “Future Memory – Tricycle” digital artwork and silkscreen on canvas. Additional collaborations on display include “Future Memory- No Name” silkscreens on paintings, Rives and Rekiseisha silver and gold leaf paper. Solo works exhibited include Fujimoto’s “Marine Debris” and Hersey’s “Survivor Tree.”
In the build up to the exhibition, Fujimoto and Cannon Hersey gathered to produce large paintings, silkscreens and advance new bronze sculptures from Future Memory. They printed silkscreens at Sue Evans’ Fair Street Press in Paterson, New Jersey. FIlmmakers Kyosuke Inoue and Taku Nishimae joined to document the art production and tell the story behind the art.
2024年6月にNew York ミルブルックにあるCannon Herseyのスタジオで開催されたThe “Future Memory” exhibition では、Cannon Herseyと藤元明による”Future Memory – Tricycle”の3Dデータをもとに制作されたアニメーション作品、キャンバス絵画、3D still life / No Name シリーズのシルクスクリーンプリント(広島で制作された銀箔紙と金箔紙を使用)などの新作を展示。合わせてそれぞれの個人作品も展示した。 Akira FujimotoとCannon Herseyは展示前の2週間から、共同でドローイングやシルクスクリープリントなどの新作を制作しながら、Future Memoryのコンセプトをさらに深めた。
